A very useful script! I didn't want all the standard gnuplot output to be included in my perl script. I changed a line in the module which takes care of this It would be really good to be able to toggle gnuplot output in future releases OLD LINE my $status = system("$gnuplot", "$command_file"); NEW LINE $status = system("$gnuplot $command_file 1>/dev/null 2>&1"); Cheers Russell Hamilton ------------------------------------------------------- - Russell Hamilton - Biocomputing Research Unit - ICMB, 3.14 Swann Building - Kings Buildings - University of Edinburgh - Edinburgh, EH9 3JL - Russell.Hamilton@ed.ac.uk - 0131 650 7049 - http://www.bru.ed.ac.uk/~rhamilto ------------------------------------------------------- From donny@jekels.com Tue Dec 17 15:48:08 2002 From: donny@jekels.com (Donny Jekels) Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 10:48:08 -0500 Subject: [Graph-dev] graph from files Message-ID: Hi, I have a file with data inside, generally the file has data as follow date1 12 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date2 12 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date3 12 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date4 12 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date5 111 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date6 14 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 date7 13 23 2424 23 23 365 75 86 68 okay the data is all the same and will give a strait line but you get the idea. now my question to you is, how would I read this data in your module in order for it to generate a graph? please advise donny _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. I am using them to build a CGI application that plot the output of iostat and sar. /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Chart/Graph/Utils.pm line 161 read: print "Set $count of tmp files are in $tmp_dir\n"; I believe that : warn "Set $count of tmp files are in $tmp_dir\n"; would be more appropriate since it would not clobber STDOUT. This is very important with CGI script otherwise it could make Apache barf with "Premature end of script headers" if you executed gnuplot() before you send your header.
