We have never tried building with BerkeleyDB 4.1, so I do not know if this
will work.  Try adding -ldb to the libdirs.  That is:

./configure --disable-perl
 --with-libdirs="/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib -ldb"
 --with-incdirs="/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/include"      

Let me know if this works.
